Why is shopping for men so difficult?
I don’t know if you find Christmas shopping a bit difficult but I know I do!
I did a poll on Instagram and found that my followers felt the same by an overwhelming amount. They said the hardest people to shop for were male family members and couples. I know exactly what they mean, I find my younger brother and my Dad do difficult to shop for! For one thing they have everything they need, their interests don’t really have merchandise and some of the things that may love would be way way out of my budget.
A thoughtful gift for Dad from his little ones.
So I think a great solution to these problems are a thoughtful gift, a keepsake they will treasure, some completely personalised to them and their interests. How about a character, couple or family portrait? This is a fantastic gift for your partner, dad, grandad or a couple! It is completely custom making it really special. I do portraits from size A6 to A3!
Whether it’s a small postcard sized keepsake for a minimalist home or a large A3 painting of a big family i’m sure it will be well loved by the recipient.
A5 and A4 Portraits
I have two styles of portrait, a simple version with all the figures together like a photograph OR one with several images around the edge intertwined with meaningful items and a quote or message in the middle.
I love both styles, the latter is my favourite and was first designed for my daughter on her birthday. I just wanted to capture my favourite moments from the year all together and I wanted to let her know all the things I love about her at this time, her little character and those special things I’d never want to forget. This style works well for an individual or couple, whereas the ‘photograph’ style works best for family and group paintings.
I love how thoughtful this one is, a Dad with his family, guitar, chicken and ducks!
If you want more thoughtful gift inspiration watch out for my next blog post detailing lots of small shop purchases you could make. This will be for all budgets and for people of all ages. I am going to do a child’s gift guide first, followed by an adults. So watch this space!
I’d love to hear what you would put in your character portait! Let me know in the comments or head over to my socials to tell me more!
